What free-zone storage means
A free zone is part of the Union customs territory where non-Union goods are treated, for import-duty purposes, as if they had not yet entered the EU. In practice: you unload the container, store the goods and pay duties only on the quantities you take out, when you take them out. The rest can be re-exported duty-free or wait for missing documents.
What it is suited for
- Stock imported in large quantities and sold in stages in Romania.
- Goods in transit to other markets, re-exported in full or in part.
- Containers that must be released from the terminal (to avoid demurrage) before clearance is possible.
- Project cargo arriving in lots and delivered to site as needed.
- Foreign companies wanting stock in Romania without importing everything at once.
Space and operations
- 4,000 sqm of covered warehouses in the Constanța South Free Zone; 1,000 sqm in Bucharest for distribution.
- Unloading, loading and transfer of containers; handling with our own equipment and qualified staff.
- Own physical-inspection ramp with customs staff assigned — customs inspection happens at our premises, not in the terminal.
- Stock records per lot, with quantity status reported on request.
- Clearance per lot, on exit from the free zone, by our team in the port.
The link with customs
The practical advantage: the warehouse, our office and the customs offices are in the same port area. Entry into the free zone, partial clearance, transit to another customs office or re-export are handled by the same team, without moving the goods from one place to another. Frequently asked questions
What goods do you accept in the warehouse?
General cargo, palletised or in packages, containerised. For goods with special requirements (temperature control, dangerous goods, excise products) ask us first — we tell you whether we can, or recommend a solution.
How long can I keep goods in the free zone?
There is no general time limit for storage in a free zone; storage costs are calculated for the actual period.
Can I take goods out in batches?
Yes. We clear exactly the quantities you take out, and the rest stays in the free zone with no import duties paid.
