Why a broker inside the port matters
In Constanța, time is measured in container demurrage days. A broker with an office in the port can lodge the declaration as soon as the documents arrive, present the goods for inspection the same day and resolve the customs office's requests on the spot. Our team works daily with the customs offices in the port and with the container terminals in Constanța North and Constanța South.
What we do for a container arriving in Constanța
- B/L release — we obtain the release from the shipping line so the container can be picked up from the terminal.
- Customs declaration — import, transit to another customs office in the country, or entry into the Constanța South Free Zone.
- Physical inspection — if customs decides to inspect, we present the goods on our own physical-inspection ramp, with customs staff assigned to it. Handling is done by our team with our equipment, which reduces the risk of damage and the waiting time.
- Release and transport — we coordinate pick-up of the container, transport to our warehouse in the Free Zone or to the consignee, and return of the empty container.
- Export — export declarations and exit formalities for goods loaded at Constanța.
Constanța South Free Zone
We have 4,000 sqm of covered warehouses in the Constanța South Free Zone. Non-Union goods can be stored there without payment of import duties until they are released for free circulation — useful for stock sold in stages, for goods awaiting documents or for re-export operations. Can you clear containers arriving in both Constanța North and Constanța South?
Yes. We work with the terminals in both parts of the port; our office is in Constanța South–Agigea.
How long does container clearance take in Constanța?
It depends on the documents and on the customs office's decision (documentary or physical check). If the documents are complete before the vessel arrives, the declaration is lodged immediately and we follow the operation through to release.
Do you also handle transport of the container after clearance?
Yes — we coordinate transport to our warehouse, to the final consignee anywhere in Romania, and the return of the empty container.
